Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
Droply is built around a simple idea: your files are yours. This policy explains what we collect (very little) and what we don't (almost everything).
1. What Droply does
Droply transfers files directly between your own devices — your phone and your laptop. Files move over your local network whenever possible. When your devices can't reach each other directly, an encrypted relay server forwards the data between them.
2. What we do NOT collect
- We do not store your files. The relay forwards bytes between your devices and never writes them to disk.
- We do not require an account, email address, or phone number.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties.
- We do not use advertising trackers.
3. What we do process
- Pairing tokens. A temporary room identifier lets two devices find each other through the relay. It expires automatically and is never linked to your identity.
- Connection metadata. The relay briefly processes IP addresses to route traffic, the same as any network service. These are not stored long-term or used for profiling.
- Update checks. The desktop app contacts our download server to check for new versions. This request includes your app version and operating system, standard for software updates.
4. Website analytics
This website may use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate traffic (e.g. page views by country). No personally identifiable information is collected.
5. Data security
All connections to our servers use HTTPS/WSS with TLS encryption. Installers are code-signed and published with SHA-256 checksums so you can verify integrity.
6. Children's privacy
Droply is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Droply evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
